FIB Unud Conducted Community Service at SMA (Senior High School) Surya Wisata Tabanan
On Friday, March 15 2024, the Unud Faculty of Humanities (FIB Unud) held community service activities at SMA Surya Wisata Tabanan which is located on Jalan Wagimin, Kediri, Tabanan.
This service event was opened by the Head of SMA Surya Wisata Tabanan, Drs. I Wayan Sudirya. At the opening event were also present the Dean of FIB Unud, the Deputy Head of SMA Surya Wisata for curriculum along with the staff and community service team of FIB Unud.
At the opening ceremony, FIB Unud and SMA Surya Wisata Tabanan also signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) and Implementation Arrangement (IA).
Head of SMA Surya Wisata Tabanan, Drs. I Wayan Sudirya in his speech expressed his gratitude to FIB Unud, for choosing his high school as one of the goals for carrying out community service activities. He hopes that the arrival of FIB Unud lecturers at Surya Wisata High School provides additional knowledge to students and motivates them to study better in order to continue their education to a higher level.
“Thank you for visiting our school. "Hopefully your arrival at school can make the children more motivated to study better and continue their education to S1 later," said Drs. Sudirya.
The Dean of FIB Unud, I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., expressed his gratitude to SMA Surya Wisata Tabanan for being willing to accept FIB Unud to carry out community service.
"We, on behalf of the institution, FIB Unud, would like to express our gratitude for SMA Surya Wisata's permission to accept our team to carry out community service at school. "We certainly hope that what the service team will convey in class will be useful for the students," explained Aryawibawa, Ph.D. when giving a speech.
This community service takes the form of scientific outreach carried out by a team of lecturers from 8 study programs (prodi) at FIB Unud. The service activity targets class XII students at SMA Surya Wisata Tabanan.
In this activity, the Indonesian Literature Study Program was represented by Isnan Waluyo, M.A. who provided material on literary appreciation, the English Literature Study Program was represented by Nissa Puspitaning Adni, S.S., M.Hum. who provided material about Interviews in English, the Japanese Literature Study Program was represented by Dr. Made Ratna Dian Aryani, S.S., M.Hum. which provides material about seasons and Japanese culture. The Anthropology Study Program was represented by Dr. Ida Bagus Gede Pujaastawa, M.A. and Ida Bagus Oka Wedasantara, S. Sos. M.Sc. which provides material about the socio-cultural life of Indonesian society, the Bali Literature Study Program is represented by I Putu Ariana, S.S., M.Hum. and the Ancient Javanese Study Program was represented by Putu Ari Suprapta Pratama, S.S., M.Hum. who provided material on Balinese and Matembang script, the History and Archeology Study Program was represented by Kadek Surya Jayadi, S.S., M.A. and I Made Agus Julianto, S.S., M.Sc., who provided material on social interaction and social organizations.
The service event was welcomed enthusiastically by students of SMA Surya Wisata Tabanan. The students were also enthusiastic about listening to material about the study programs at FIB Unud and some hoped to be able to continue their education at FIB Unud.
According to the Chair of the FIB Unud Community Service Committee, Prof. Dr. I Made Netra, S.S., M.Hum., this event is an implementation of collaboration between FIB Unud and SMA Surya Wisata which is also a forum for implementing community service and socializing FIB Unud to the community.
"In addition to implementing cooperation, this event also provides scientific outreach to students at Surya Wisata Tabanan High School and introduces the study programs at FIB Unud, it's like killing two birds in one stone," said Prof. Netra. (gfp)
