Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University held the closing ceremony of the Bali Short Course Program 2025

Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University (FIB Unud) officially closed the Bali Short Course Program Busan University of Foreign Studies (BUFS) 2025 program on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The event was held at the Widya Sabha Mandala Auditorium, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra Building, FIB Unud. This event marked the end of a one-month cultural and academic exchange program that brought together BUFS South Korean students with the FIB Unud academic community, including lecturers and students of FIB Unud. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Humanities, Study Program Coordinators, such as the Coordinator of the Cultural Anthropology, Balinese Literature, Ancient Javanese Literature, and Indonesian Literature Study Programs, lecturers, as well as the representatives from FIB Unud students.


The closing ceremony opened with a performance of the Pendet Widya Mahamerta Dance from the Satyam Sivam Sundaram Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. The atmosphere became even more lively when BUFS students collaborated with FIB students to present a gamelan performance. This demonstrated the seriousness of BUFS students while studying at FIB and was a good achievement because they could play traditional Balinese musical instruments in a short time. The Chair of the Committee, I Gede Andi Legawa, S.S., M.A., in his report expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm of the participants in following each agenda. The same thing was also conveyed by the Dean of FIB Udayana University, Prof. I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D. In addition, he also emphasized the importance of this program being implemented sustainably, as a bridge of friendship and cross-cultural understanding between the two countries.


The agenda continued with the certificates awarded to five BUFS students, Park Yejin, Park Jiho, Lee Mumin, Jeong Yumi, and Jo Yerin. Then continued with an entertainment session in the form of the Joged Bumbung Dance, which also invited BUFS students and lecturers to join the dance together. The next agenda was the impressions and messages from student and lecturer representatives. The impressions and messages from students were represented by BUFS student, Jo Yerin. She expressed gratitude and thanks for the valuable experience they got in Bali. The same thing was also conveyed by the lecturer representative, Putu Gede Suarya Natha, S.S., M.Hum., that this program strengthened academic and cultural collaboration. He also appreciated the enthusiasm of BUFS students throughout the activities programs for approximately one month.


The event continued with the documentary video of the students' journey throughout the program played. During the one month-long program, several activities were carried out, which were the Indonesian language learning in the morning session and peer learning activities with students from the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University, in the afternoon. Another activity was the cultural excursions were also conducted to learn about Balinese culture and society. These included a visit to the market and a traditional Balinese cooking session. The event concluded with a friendly gathering and group photo session. Thus, the Bali Short Course Program in 2025 officially ended. This activity served not only as a learning space but also as a platform for building cultural bridges between Indonesia and South Korea and is expected to continue in the years to come.
