Welcome to the Doctoral Program (S3) in Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. As the highest educational level in language studies, our program has achieved an accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
Our Vision and Mission Our vision is to realize a Doctoral Linguistics education with excellent service that produces graduates who are excellent, independent, and culture-oriented. We are committed to developing a learning system based on Indonesian language and literature supported by information technology, conducting high-quality research for the development of Indonesian Linguistics, and building broad partnerships at national and international levels.
Graduate Profile and Competencies Graduates of this program will hold the title of Doctor (Dr.). Students are prepared to have high-level competencies as:
- Professional
Researchers: Capable of conducting original research mono-, inter-, or
transdisciplinarily.
- Linguistic
Engineers: Experts in designing and developing various aspects of
language science.
- Academicians:
High-level educators who master the philosophy of language and literary
sciences.
- Linguistic
Consultants: Experts providing solutions to linguistic problems within
a global scope.
Curriculum and Study Stages The curriculum is designed to be completed in 6 semesters with a total minimum workload of 46 credits for linear graduates and 58 credits for non-linear graduates. There are two main concentrations: Linguistics Concentration and Narrative Discourse Concentration. Academic stages include mandatory courses, qualification examinations, proposal examinations, research result feasibility seminars, and final stage I (closed) and stage II (open) examinations.
Support and Facilities The learning process is fully supported by faculty members with Doctoral and Professorial qualifications. Available facilities include comfortable classrooms with modern equipment, WiFi internet access, language laboratories for practicums, and reading rooms with rich literature collections. Students also receive intensive academic guidance and opportunities to participate in periodic international seminars.
