Welcome to the Doctoral Program (S3) in Cultural Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. As the highest academic level focusing on the critical analysis of cultural phenomena, our program is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
Our Vision and Mission Our vision is to realize an excellent, independent, and culture-oriented doctoral program that produces high-level human resources (IQF Level 9). We are committed to producing graduates who master the scientific philosophy of cultural studies and are capable of competing regionally, nationally, and internationally. Our mission includes providing quality education, conducting globally published academic research, and performing community service that strengthens the scientific aspects of cultural studies.
Graduate Profile and Competencies Graduates of this program will hold the title of Doctor (Dr.). Students are prepared to become experts with core competencies as:
- Critical
Cultural Studies Experts: Mastering critical, deconstructive,
poststructural, and postmodern paradigms with a
transformative-emancipatory mission for humanity.
- Professional
Researchers: Capable of developing and updating science and technology
through innovative and tested interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary
research.
- Academicians
with Integrity: Possessing a critical character and global orientation
in solving problems within the field of cultural studies.
- Social
Transformation Agents: Capable of deconstructing ideological traps and
power interests that bind public consciousness through scientific study.
Curriculum and Duration of Study The normal study period is designed for 6 semesters with a total workload of 55 credits, including a Dissertation worth 32 credits.
- Semesters
I & II: Focus on in-depth theory and methodology such as
Philosophy of Science, Critical Theory, Ideology and Power, and Capitalism
and Pop Culture.
- Semesters
III - VI: Research stages including Proposal Examination, Research
Result Seminar, and Final Dissertation Examination (Closed and Open
stages).
Facilities and Academic Support The learning process is fully supported by faculty members with Doctoral and Professorial qualifications. Available facilities include adequate libraries/reading rooms, language laboratories, and integrated information technology systems to support student research.
