Welcome to the English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. As a highly dedicated educational institution, our study program has  accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).

Our Vision and Mission Our vision is to become an excellent and internationally recognized study program by 2027 in language and literature research inspired by Indonesian cultural values. We are committed to providing research-based education to produce graduates capable of thinking globally while acting locally, and remaining independent in competing within national and international workforces.

Graduate Profile and Competencies Our graduates will earn a Bachelor of Arts (S.S.) degree. Students are prepared to become competent professionals as:

  1. Research Assistants: Assisting academic research through data collection and tabulation.
  2. Language Teachers: Especially English teachers in both formal and informal institutions.
  3. Administrators: Managing office administration with strong communication skills.
  4. Writers and Communicators: Skilled in creating written works and fluent in exchanging information as hosts or translators.
  5. Entrepreneurs: Having the talent to identify and market new products or services.


Curriculum and Learning Experience We implement a curriculum based on the National Higher Education Standards (SN Dikti) and the "Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka" (Emancipated Learning) program. With a total workload of approximately 144 credits, students will take various core courses such as Public Speaking, Theory of Translation, and literary analysis including Drama, Poetry, and Prose Analysis. The program is designed to ensure students achieve English proficiency equivalent to CEFR level B2.

 Facilities and Faculty Support The learning process is supported by 42 permanent lecturers, including Professors and Doctors who are experts in their fields. Available physical facilities are highly adequate, ranging from air-conditioned classrooms equipped with projectors to access to libraries housing a collection of over 88,000 reading materials. We also provide career development services through the Career Development Center and intensive academic guidance.

IQuality Indicators The quality of our study program is proven by the achievements of the 2020 graduates, where the average GPA reached 3.69 with a timely graduation rate of 74%. Furthermore, the average waiting time for graduates to secure their first job is less than 3 months.
