Welcome to the Master of Linguistics Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. As a postgraduate educational institution focusing on the development of language sciences, our study program has been accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
Our Vision and Mission Our vision is to become an excellent, independent, and culture-oriented center for master's education that develops science, technology, and arts based on culture. We are on a mission to provide linguistic learning based on Indonesian language and literature by utilizing advancements in information technology, and to produce high-quality research and community service for national development.
Graduate Profile and Competencies Our graduates will earn the degree of Master of Humanities (M.Hum). Students are prepared to become professionals with various profiles, including:
- Researchers
and Educators: Experts in conducting independent or collaborative
research and teaching in formal or informal educational institutions in
the fields of linguistics, translation, and language learning.
- Professional
Translators: Working as translators or interpreters, either
independently or affiliated with an institution.
- Editors
and Journalists: Becoming professional language editors or journalists
in print or electronic media.
- Linguistic
Practitioners: Utilizing linguistic science skills in various
practical fields related to language.
Curriculum and Learning Experience Our curriculum is designed with a minimum workload of 42 credits, typically completed in 4 semesters.
- Semester
I: Focuses on instilling an understanding of micro, macro, and
interdisciplinary linguistic aspects.
- Semester
II: In-depth specialized material according to concentrations
(Linguistics, Language Learning, Literature, or Translation) and
preparation for thesis research methods.
- Semesters
III & IV: The final stage focused on proposal preparation, writing
scientific journal articles, and the thesis examination.
Facilities and Academic Environment The learning process is supported by highly competent educators, consisting of Professors and Doctors (Dr.) who are experts in their fields. Supporting facilities include representative classrooms, a computer laboratory, and a reading room with a collection of over 3,000 book titles and 600 thesis titles.
