Welcome to the Japanese Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. As a highly dedicated educational institution, our program has achieved an accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
Our Vision and Mission Our vision is to realize the Japanese Literature Study Program as an excellent, independent, and culture-oriented educational institution in the fields of education, research, and community service. We are committed to developing a dynamic Japanese language and literature education system supported by advancements in communication and information technology, as well as producing leading research in the fields of Japanese language, literary culture, and social institutions.
Graduate Profile and Competencies Our graduates will earn a Bachelor of Arts (S.S.) degree. Students are prepared to have professional competencies as:
- Research
Assistants: Capable of scientifically examining linguistic and
literary data.
- Educators:
Possessing the ability to teach Japanese using appropriate methods.
- Interpreters
and Translators: Skilled in translating texts and providing oral
communication in Japanese.
- Tour
Guides: Able to practically apply the Japanese language in the field
of tourism.
- Journalists
and Entrepreneurs: Having independence in the language and creative
industries.
Curriculum and Learning Experience We implement a curriculum based on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and the "Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka" (Emancipated Learning) program with a total workload of 144 to 160 credits. Students will undertake various essential courses ranging from language skills (grammar, conversation, listening, writing), linguistics, to Japanese literature and culture (Japanese Pop Culture and Japanese Ideology). The program also facilitates students to study outside their main major for three semesters.
Facilities and Faculty Support The learning process is supported by high-quality educators who hold a minimum academic rank of Assistant Professor (Lektor), many of whom possess Doctoral qualifications. Available facilities include standard classrooms, language laboratories, faculty and university libraries, as well as digital learning media such as OASE. We also provide various domestic and international scholarship schemes and student exchange collaborations with several universities in Japan.
