Vision and Mision
As a higher education institution, the Faculty of Letters (Faculty of Humanities), Udayana University, possesses a Vision (a far-reaching forward-looking view) and a Mission (the duties and obligations to be performed to honor the institution) in order to implement and achieve the outlined objectives.
Vision
To become a Faculty of Humanities that possesses excellence and
independence in the fields of education, research, and community service, with
scholarly applications rooted in culture.
When further elaborated, the vision encompasses the values of being
excellent, independent, and culture-oriented:
- Excellent means
that Faculty of Humanities Udayana University consciously produces human
resources with a competitive edge at regional, national, and international
levels. Through this excellence, the university’s Principal Scientific
Pattern is directed toward becoming a leading institution for
undergraduate, master's, and doctoral education, specifically in
education, research, and community service that exceeds the national
higher education standards (Dikti).
- Independent
means that all produced human resources possess a resilient personality,
self-confidence, and high competitiveness, enabling them to develop
independently. As an undergraduate educational institution, FIB Unud must
maintain autonomy in various aspects, particularly in developing
management and financing systems.
- Culture-oriented means that the human resources produced are capable of upholding the values of honesty and academic truth, possessing high sensitivity to the issues and dynamics of local cultural values, traditions, and societal practices. This is intended to support sustainable national cultural development and the ability to explore and develop local cultural values into the peaks of national and global culture. Faculty of Humanities Udayana University is expected to produce graduates who possess intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual intelligence.
Mission
The vision above is translated into four missions as follows.
- To develop a
learning system based on local wisdom, supported by communication and
information technology, as well as an adequate quality assurance system to
produce graduates who are excellent, independent, and culture-oriented,
possessing high competence and integrity in accordance with the Indonesian
National Qualifications Framework and the demands of local, national, and
international communities.
- To develop
flagship research and scientific studies as a "spearhead" to
generate high-quality new findings that benefit the development of science
and technology, as well as community development, in an effort to realize
FIB Unud as a research faculty in accordance with the National Standards
for Higher Education.
- To foster and
develop, both quantitatively and qualitatively, scientific studies in the
form of books and articles for national, accredited national, and
international journals.
- To develop Faculty
of Humanities Udayana University as a flagship program to enhance the
university's credibility in the eyes of the public through prominent
community service programs.
