Linguistic Landscape Group Research Roadmap
Background
In the context of globalization and the rapid advancement of information technology, language and culture are undergoing significant dynamics. The Faculty of Humanities at Udayana University has established a research roadmap that encompasses themes such as local wisdom, language preservation, and contemporary phenomena. Within this framework, the Linguistic Landscape Expert Group (KBK) focuses on the overarching theme of "Language Contestation and Transliteration in Public Spaces." This theme is highly relevant given the importance of language as a tool for communication and cultural identity that continually adapts to social and technological changes.
Objectives
The objective of the Linguistic Landscape KBK research roadmap is to develop a deeper understanding of how language and culture interact and transform within public spaces. This roadmap aims to identify and analyze the phenomena of language contestation, cultural contestation, social dynamics, and transliteration in both local and global contexts. Consequently, it is expected to provide a significant contribution to the advancement of knowledge and public policies that support the preservation and development of language and culture.
