FIB Unud English Literature Study Program Students Won NUDC Internal Selection

Students from the English Literature study program at FIB Unud won the National University Debating Championship (NUDC) internal selection held by Universitas Udayana Student Affairs Bureau on Saturday – Sunday, 23 – 24 March 2024.


FIB representatives, namely Christian Nathaniel and Riska Antari, two English Literature study program students, succeeded in winning awards as Champions. Apart from that, other FIB representatives, Ni Made Desta and Fransiska Oktafian, who are also students of the English Literature study program, succeeded in winning 3rd Runner Up.


Not only as champion and runner up, FIB Unud representatives also won the overall best speaker award, which was won by Christian Nathaniel, 4th best speaker won by Ryu Kenshee Xu and Ni Made Desta, 6th best speaker won by Fransiska Oktafian, 9th best speaker won by Diandra Putri Salsabila, and 10th best speaker was achieved by Ni Kadek Riska Antari.


Chair of the activities committee, Ni Luh Putu Krisnawati, S.S., M.Hum. stated that the aim of carrying out this activity was to screen candidates who would then represent Unud at the regional level.


"We are carrying out this internal selection with the aim of screening candidates who will later represent Unud in the regional level selection. "The winners of today's selection will then receive intensive coaching at the university and we hope that the winners can bring Unud's name to the national level and even surpass Unud's achievements last year," said Putu Krisnawati, S.S., M.Hum.


The National University Debating Championship (NUDC) is a national scale competition in English language debate holds between universities in Indonesia. This activity has been carried out every year since 2018. In 2023, the Unud debate team won third place at the national level and represented Indonesia in international competitions.


Coordinator of the FIB Unud English Literature Study Program, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Mulyawan, S,S., M.Hum, met separately, admitted that he was proud of the achievements of his study program students.


"Of course we are proud and grateful for the achievements achieved by the students. "We hope that they will continue to improve their abilities for the next competition, and wish them continued success in the next stages," said Prof. Mulyawan. (nm)
