The History Study Program FoH Unud Received Visit From the History Study Program Yogyakarta State University

The History Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University received a visit from the History Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Yogyakarta State University (UNY). The visit took place on Wednesday, May 5 2024. Nearly 100 guests attended, consisting of 2 accompanying lecturers and 97 students of History from the Class of 2023. They were warmly welcomed and received in the Widya Sabha Mandala auditorium.


The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere which was visible from lecturers and students on both sides. In his remarks, the Coordinator of the History Study Program, FIB, Udayana University, Anak Agung Inten Asmariati, S.S., M.Si. expressed his happiness at being able to receive a visit from Yogyakarta State University. Yogyakarta State University also conveyed the same thing, in his speech represented by Dr. HY Agus Murdiyastomo, M.Hum. In their respective speeches, both parties expressed their desire to be able to cooperate with each other more intensely.


During the meeting, a seminar related to Balinese Local History was also held which was presented by Dr. Ida Bagus Gede Putra, M.Hum, who is one of the lecturers from the History Study Program at Udayana University. The material he provided was able to spark discussion in the form of interesting questions asked by a number of students from Yogyakarta State University of History.


The meeting ended with a visit to the Udayana University Lontar Unit accompanied by I Kadek Surya Jayadi, S.S., M.A., and a number of other lecturers and students from Udayana University History Science. The enthusiasm of the Yogyakarta State University History students was clearly visible when they saw and heard the explanation regarding the treasures of Balinese manuscripts stored at Udayana University. In fact, they became even more enthusiastic when they were given the opportunity to see the process of writing on palm leaves demonstrated by UNUD Lontar Unit employees. (sj)
