Bachelor of English Literature at Udayana University received a visit from UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya
On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the Bachelor of English Literature at the Faculty of Humanities Udayana University received a visit from the English Literature program at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The visit was held in the Ruang Sidang Guru Besar, Jalan Pulau Nias No. 13, Denpasar. This visit is part of efforts to enhance cooperation between the Bachelor of English Literature and UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The meeting is also expected to strengthen collaboration in the Tridharma (Three Principles) of Higher Education and support the development of quality education in English language and literature.
The UIN Sunan Ampel team, during their visit, consists of six lecturers from the English Literature program, namely (1) Prof. Dr. Dzo'Ul Milal, M.Pd., (2) Dr. Wahyu Kusumajayanti, M.Hum., (3) Dr. Endratno Pilih Swasono, M.Pd., (4) Itsna Syahadatul Dinuriah, M.A., Ph.D., (5) Murni Fidiyanti, M.A., and (6) Raudlotul Jannah, M.App.Ling. The UIN Sunan Ampel team visit was received by the Coordinator of the Bachelor of English Literature at the Faculty of Humanities Udayana University, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Mulyawan, S.S., M.Hum., who was accompanied by three working group coordinators (PokJa) in his department, namely (1) the coordinator of the Quality Assurance Implementation Team, Prof. Dr. I.G.A.G. Sosiowati, M.A., (2) Coordinator of the Information and Communication Working, I Made Sena Darmasetyawan, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., (3) Coordinator of the Working Plan, Novita Mulyana, S.S., M.Hum.
Dr. Endratno, M.Pd., who is also the Coordinator of the English Literature Study Program UIN Sunan Ampel, explained during the meeting that the purpose of his team's visit to the Faculty of Humanities of Udayana University was to explore cooperation between institutions and collaboration between lecturers in the field of English literature research and publication. "The purpose of our visit is to learn from Udayana University about research and publication. We see that the tradition of research and publication at Unud is very good, so we decided to come here to learn," said Dr. Endratno. This visit is a strategic step in strengthening the academic network between the English Literature Study Program at UIN Sunan Ampel and Udayana University. Through increased cooperation in research and scientific publication, the two institutions are expected to produce higher quality academic contributions that are competitive at the national level.
The coordinator of the Bachelor of English Literature Faculty of Humanities Udayana University, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Mulyawan, S.S., M.Hum., who received the visit from the UIN Sunan Ampel team, welcomed the purpose and objectives of the UIN Sunan Ampel team's visit to his department. Prof. Mulyawan also hoped to learn from UIN Sunan Ampel and was happy to establish a network of cooperation in the field of research and publication. “We also definitely want to learn best practices from UIN. I think we can use this opportunity as a forum for mutual sharing. We would also be very happy if we could collaborate in research and publication activities with the English Literature program at UIN Sunan Ampel,” said Prof. Mulyawan.
During the meeting, both parties shared various information such as: curriculum in their respective study programs, research and publication policies, and exchanged ideas on overcoming obstacles that are often faced by both study programs in their efforts to achieve key performance indicators. Both parties also hope that they can immediately realize the results of the meeting in future collaborative activities.
