Optimizing Student Output, Bachelor of History Faculty of Humanities Udayana University Held Orientation on Historical Site Visits
The Bachelor of History Faculty of Humanities Udayana University held an orientation on Historical Site Visits on Thursday, February 12, 2026. The orientation began with an official opening by the Coordinator of the Bachelor of History Udayana University, Prof. Dr. phil. I Ketut Ardhana, M.A. In his speech, Prof. Ardhana said that the Historical Site Visit activity should be packaged in such a way that History students and lecturers would have more ideas that could be written and produced as outputs, not only at the local level but also on a national and international scale. Prof. Ardhana emphasized that this Historical Site Visit activity is the first agenda that will be linked to other agendas, one of which is the International Conferences IFSSO “Religion, Secularization, and Modernization in Comparative Perspective” on April 21, 2026.
I Kadek Surya Jayadi, S.S., M.A., as the head of the committee, said that if this briefing activity is packaged in an enjoyable way and provides significant benefits, “Despite its shortcomings, this effort should further optimize the achievements of Udayana University History students.” To meet these expectations, the 2026 Historical Site Visit activity began with a briefing session with material provided by all lecturers from the History Department at Udayana University. The briefing material covered the historical overview of Karangasem regarding multiculturalism, research ethics, and oral history. The orientation was also complemented by workshops on essay writing and tourism promotion video production. The orientation did not feel boring because students were immediately given practical exercises such as drafting interview questions or creating videos.
This orientation is expected to serve as a strong academic foundation for students before they dive into the field during the 2026 Historical Site Visit. Through the synergy between theory and practice, students will not only gain empirical experience, but also be guided to produce scientific papers, popular essays, and educational content worthy of publication. The Bachelor of History Udayana University is committed to continually presenting research-based learning innovations and concrete outputs as part of strengthening academic quality and making a real contribution to the development of historical studies at the national and international levels.
