This forum discusses the relationship between ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian countries) and China which is seen as having a strategic role in the last few decades. At least ASEAN countries view China as a partner, especially in relation to the increasing industrial and trade issues lately. In this context, each party sees the need to increase cooperation not only today but in the future. Of course, in this context, the economic and trade relations that occur cannot be separated from various problems, but also as an opportunity or chance that should be filled. Hence the relationship as a partner runs well in the context of maintaining a peaceful atmosphere in the regional area, especially related to developments in the South China Sea and various global developments regarding relations between China and the United States in particular and relations between China itself and its neighboring regions in Southeast Asia.

Prof. Dr. Phil I Ketut Ardhana, M.A. was specially invited as one of the speakers at the event. In his presentation, Prof. Ardana emphasized the context of cultural, economic and political relations that occur in each locality of the region and its relation to social resilience as social capital in gluing and knitting connectivity and interconnectivity between ASEAN and CHINA in increasingly global dynamics. According to Prof. Ardhana, it is important to strategize and respond to developments in the world of industry, trade, culture, and politics. Until now, the relations that occur are still felt around connectivity and there is still limited discussion about interconnectivity (mutual reciprocal). For that, in order to understand socio-cultural, economic and political relations well, it is necessary to understand the common thread of regional dynamics between China and ASEAN countries that can be improved not only now but also in the future. The event was closed with the delivery of several keywords related to increasing regional cooperation between ASEAN and China delivered by H. E. Aung Myo Myint, Myanmar Representative for ASEAN and H. E. Hou Yanqi, Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN.
