Closing Ceremony of BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) Universitas Udayana 2025 Strengthening the Internationalization of the Indonesian Language
The Faculty of Humanities Udayana University held the Closing Ceremony for the Indonesian Language Program for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) for the September–December 2025 period on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Prof. Dr. Priyono Building, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University.
This event marked the official end of the BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) Program, which had been running for one academic period. The event was attended by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Humanities Udayana University, the Head of the BIPA Program and staff, lecturers, and BIPA students from levels 1, 2, and 3 from various countries. It began with an opening ceremony and expressions of gratitude for the smooth implementation of the BIPA Program at Udayana University. Next, the Head of the BIPA Program at Udayana University, Prof. Dr. Drs. I Nyoman Suparwa, M.Hum. who delivered a program report that outlined student learning achievements, academic activities, and the contribution of the BIPA Program in introducing the Indonesian language and culture to foreign speakers. During this period, 18 students successfully graduated.
Remarks by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Humanities Udayana University, Dr. I Gede Oeinada, S.S., M.Hum. expressed his appreciation to all members of the academic community who have played an active role in the success of the BIPA Program. He emphasized that students who have received certificates should not stop learning to develop their Indonesian skills. The event continued with remarks and messages from BIPA student representatives. The level 1 student, Isolde Askaner, expressed her gratitude to the lecturers for their support and guidance. Even though the learning process was difficult, she was able to continue learning Indonesian and its culture. “Words give power through the difficult process. We don’t just bring a diploma but also experiences,” said Maria Andrrevna, a student from level 2. Finally, Hanna and Kan Ji Hye, students from level 3, also expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to study at BIPA Udayana. The students shared their memorable experiences learning Indonesian and the valuable opportunity to learn about Indonesian culture through the learning process and cross-cultural interactions.
As the peak of the event, graduation certificates were awarded to all BIPA students who had completed the program. The awarding of these certificates was a form of appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the students during their Indonesian studies at Udayana University.
The Closing Ceremony of the Udayana University BIPA Program for the September–December 2025 period ended with a group photo session with faculty leaders, lecturers, and all BIPA students. Through this activity, it is hoped that BIPA Program graduates can become ambassadors of the Indonesian and culture in their respective countries.
