Commemorating World Mental Health Day, UNUD Counseling Guidance Unit Holds Campaign and Socialization of Counseling Services at FIB
DENPASAR – In commemoration of World Mental Health Day, the Student Counseling and Advocacy Unit of Udayana University (UNUD) organized a Mental Health Campaign and Socialization of the Counseling Service Flow. The educational event was held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the Dr. Prijono Room, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) UNUD Campus.
The event was officially opened by Dr. I Gede Oeinada, S.S., M.Hum., the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FIB UNUD. This campaign was also attended by FIB students along with the ranks of counselor lecturers within FIB UNUD.
The main highlight of this campaign was the emphasis on the crucial role of peer counselors. Two selected students who had received special training, Ni Wayan Trisna Mahayani and Ni Made Sri Dharma Patni, took the stage as speakers. They educated their fellow students on how to provide initial support, offer assistance, and deliver psychological first aid to peers in need.
The material presentation session by the peer counselors was directly supervised by Dr. I Gusti Ayu Diah Fridari, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph.D., who serves as the Head of the Udayana University Counseling Service Unit and the Head of the Counseling Unit of the Udayana University Secretary (PTN-BH). This presence and supervision affirm the university's commitment to providing a structured and professional platform for mental health care.
In addition to education on initial psychological care, the event also socialized the integrated campus counseling service flow. This flow connects several support gateways accessible to students, starting from Academic Advisors (PA), peer counselors, FIB counselor lecturers, up to professional handling by the UNUD Counseling Service Unit.
Through the implementation of this event, the academic community of FIB UNUD is expected to foster a higher sensitivity toward various mental health issues within the campus environment. Students are also encouraged not to hesitate in utilizing these counseling service flows optimally to maintain and support the psychological well-being of all students.
