Discussing the Potential for Research Collaboration, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University Receives a Visit from Nanchang University

On Monday, June 2, 2025, the Faculty of Humanities received a visit from Nanchang University. Seven representatives from Nanchang University were received in the lobby of the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D. accompanied by the Vice Dean I for Academic and Planning, Dr. I Gede Oeinada, S.S., M.Hum., and the head of the China-Asean Cross-Cultural Institute (CACI), Prof. Dr. Phil. I Ketut Ardhana, M.A. Also attended the meeting was Mr. Lui Kemin, China Director of Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI), Udayana University. After taking a group photo and introducing the FIB cultural heritage site area, the dean directed the guests to the CACI room.


The meeting was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities by introducing the history of FIB as the forerunner of Udayana University, then continued by introducing all the study programs in the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities did not forget to introduce the faculty staff members who were present at the meeting. Furthermore, Nanchang University was represented by Xiong Jingang, also introduced some unique features of Nanchang University. After both parties introduced their respective institutions, the meeting continued on discussing about cooperation plans.


The main collaboration initiated in this meeting is related to research collaboration, which includes conducting relevant scientific research cooperation with a focus on themes such as cultural heritage and innovation. In addition, this research collaboration is expected to strengthen the exchange of knowledge between researchers from both parties. The product of the research itself can be a joint research project and/or publishing articles in journals or academic papers. In addition to research, the discussion also led to collaboration in various cultural exchange activities between China and ASEAN countries, organizing joint international academic conferences, and so on.


The discussion continued to explore areas that could be explored for joint research, such as matters related to Artificial Intelligence and its pros and cons, as well as a number of other possible collaborations, such as opportunities for FIB lecturers to study Mandarin at Nanchang University. The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities was very positive about these offers and saw the possibility to the collaboration plans to be followed up in the future. Also considering the commitment of the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University to hold a Mandarin study program. The head of CACI, Prof. Dr. Phil. I Ketut Ardhana, MA, also saw opportunities for research collaboration on further in the future.
