English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University, carried out community service entitled "Improving English Literacy and Communication for Students at SD 4 Tuban" on Friday, July 26, 2024. This service is a series of Udayana Mengabdi 2024 Programs which took place at SD 4 Tuban. Lecturers and students of English Literature, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University collaborated to improve the English language skills of students at SD 4 Tuban.

This learning activity targets 6th grade students at SD 4 Tuban which consists of 3 classes, classes 6A, 6B, and 6C. The learning process is also divided into three sessions, starting at 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. The three main materials taught are; news reading, storytelling, and speech. In the learning activity, students are invited to read news in English, expand their vocabulary, and understand current news.

In addition, storytelling activities also enliven the learning atmosphere. The students were creative in telling stories, developing their imagination, and improving their English-speaking skills.

Not only that, the speech session was also an important moment in this program. The students were given the opportunity to speak in front of their friends, practice their public speaking skills, and strengthen their self-confidence. With a variety of interesting and interactive materials, it is hoped that students will be more enthusiastic about learning English and motivated to develop their language skills.

After the learning session in the classroom, the students had outdoor activities filled with fun games and also enjoying snacks together to create a fun and interactive atmosphere. According to the Coordinator of the English Literature Study Program, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Mulyawan, M.Hum, this activity not only provides educational benefits, but also strengthens the relationship between universities and the local community. "It is hoped that community service activities like this can continue and have a positive impact on improving English literacy and communication in the educational environment," said Prof. Mulyawan.
