Enhancing Awareness of Household Organic Waste Management, the Pedungan Village Development Team Held an Eco-Enzyme Outreach Event and Demonstration in Banjar Sawah, Pedungan

Denpasar, May 2, 2026 — The 2026 Pedungan Village Development Team conducted an outreach session and hands-on training on household organic waste management through the production of eco-enzymes as an eco-friendly solution. The event was located at Wantilan Banjar Sawah in Pedungan attended by 25 participants, including the Head of the Banjar Sawah Pedungan Neighborhood, the Chairperson of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) Committee  and women representatives.

This outreach aims to raise public awareness about managing kitchen organic waste so it can be turned into more useful products. The material presented covered an introduction to eco-enzymes, the ingredients and tools used, the production steps, storage techniques, and the benefits of using them in daily life. All the materials were presented directly by the Pedungan 2026 Village Development Team.

The presentation was complemented by a demonstration of how to make eco-enzymes. Participants were directly involved in the process, from mixing fruit and vegetable peels with molasses and water to learning proper storage techniques. The hands-on session was guided by the organizing committee to ensure that every step was clearly understood.

Through this activity, the community is expected to be able to independently produce eco-enzymes at home as part of their organic waste management efforts. Moving forward, the harvested eco-enzymes are planned to be utilized collectively through the dispersal of the eco-enzyme solution into rivers, ditches, and waterways in the Pedungan Traditional Village area. This activity is scheduled to take place during the eco-enzyme harvest period in the coming month as a concrete step toward reducing environmental pollution.
