Faculty of Humanities held a Counselor Training

On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, a training session for the Faculty of Humanities counseling team was held in the Soekarno Room of the Poerbatjaraka Building at the Faculty of Humanities. This training is one of the Faculty of Humanities' efforts in developing the Integrity Zone, particularly in the field of improving the quality of public services, and was attended by the Coordinator of Program Study, lecturers, students, and educational staff.

The training was opened with a report from the committee chair, who stated in his report that "this activity is a continuation of activities in student affairs and is related to student welfare. Students at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences must be guaranteed their welfare, both psychologically and in terms of facilities and infrastructure. This activity is also part of the development of the Integrity Zone in the field of Public Services. Public services are not only provided for students but also for lecturers and educational staff. On this occasion, this counselor training is beneficial for the counselor team who will use their knowledge to serve students, staff, and lecturers."

The Vice Dean II said that this Counselor Training is an important activity to help lecturers and students who have experience in psychological problems. The problems that have arisen recently and affected students and lecturers are a lesson for all of us. On this occasion, the counselor training provided insight on how to deal with the problems faced by students, lecturers, and teaching staff. It is hoped that through this training, clients will understand the problems and be able to find solutions to the problems they face. In the future, the counselor team is expected to be able to provide psychological services for the problems faced by clients.

This training invited two speakers. The first speaker was I Gusti Ayu Diah Fridari, who presented on the topic of “Basic Counseling Skills for Lecturers and Counselors in Faculties.” The training discusses the objectives of counseling, ethics in counseling, important points in the counseling process, good practices in counseling, and the challenges faced by counselors. The second speaker is Dr. NS. Ni Made Dian Sulistiowati, S.KEP, M.KEP, SP.KEP.J. The Guidance and Counseling Training aims to improve the skills of counselors at the faculty level. This activity also serves as a strategic step to improve the quality of counseling services on campus. By strengthening counselors' competencies, the faculty hopes to create a healthier and more supportive academic environment.
