Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University Conducts the 175th Release of Prospective Graduates

Denpasar, April 16, 2026 - The Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University held the 175th Release of Prospective Graduates offline. It was conducted at the Widya Sabha Mandala Auditorium, Ida Bagus Mantra Building. This event was attended by the decanate ranks, all coordinators of the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral programs, all Units coordinators, and the 53 prospective graduates.


Initiating the series of events, Dr. I Gede Oeinada, S.S., M.Hum., as the Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs and Partnerships, reported that there were 53 prospective graduates to be released in this period. They consisted of 1 student from the Linguistics Doctoral program, 4 students from the Cultural Studies Doctoral program, 1 student from the Linguistics Master's program, 5 students from the Cultural Studies Master's program, 5 students from the Indonesian Literature Bachelor's program, 1 student from the Old Javanese Literature Bachelor's program, 8 students from the English Literature Bachelor's program, 6 students from the Archaeology Bachelor's program, 5 students from the Historical Science Bachelor's program, 6 students from the Cultural Anthropology Bachelor's program, and 11 students from the Japanese Literature Bachelor's program. Furthermore, he stated that 3 Doctoral students graduated with Cum Laude honors, 2 Doctoral students graduated with Highly Satisfactory honors, 6 Master's students graduated with Highly Satisfactory honors, 2 Bachelor's students graduated with Cum Laude honors, 26 Bachelor's students graduated with Highly Satisfactory honors, and 14 Bachelor's students graduated with Satisfactory honors.


The details of the best prospective graduates were presented by the Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Information, Dr. Ni Ketut Puji Astiti Laksmi, S.S., M.Si. The best prospective graduate from the Bachelor's program was Meutia Aulia Hakim, S.S., from Bachelor of Indonesian Literature. The best prospective graduate from the Master's program was Aura Alifia Asmarandana, S.Fil., M.Si., from Cultural Studies, and the best prospective graduate from the Doctoral program was Dr. Fransiska Dewi Setiawati Sunaryo, S.S., M.Hum., from Cultural Studies.


During this release, representatives of the Bachelor's graduates and alumni also delivered reflective messages. Meutia Aulia Hakim, S.S. as the representative expressed her appreciation for the academic community's guidance while expressing her hope that the faculty's bureaucracy will be more inclusive in producing mutually beneficial policies (win-win solutions) in the future. Meanwhile, Dr. Made Narawati, S.Th., M.Si. as the representative of Doctoral programs specifically highlighted the total dedication of the faculty's lecturers and educational staff. She also left a moral message through the acronym AKSARA, urging that academic degrees should not merely be a theoretical pride (nice to know), but rather a calling to action to bring about real change and voice the rights of marginalized groups in society.


Concluding the graduation ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Udayana University, Prof. I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., offered his congratulations while emphasizing the importance of strong dedication for the graduates. He used the analogy of Thomas Alva Edison’s struggles to underscore that true success is the result of one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent hard work. In line with this, the Chairman of the Senate, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Weda Kusuma, M.S., reflecting on his 43 years of service, reminded everyone that education is an indispensable tool for improving the standard of living. He motivated the graduates not to be complacent and to continue their studies to higher levels in order to carry on the torch of leadership and maintain the faculty’s prestige in the future.
