Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University, held the first day of PKKMB for Mahadayana (Mahasiswa Ilmu Budaya Udayana) 2025
The first day of the 2025 New Student Campus Life Introduction (PKKMB) for the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University (FIB Unud) was held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Widya Sabha Auditorium on the Bukit Jimbaran Campus. Thirty-two guests attended, including the Dean and staff of the Dean's Office, the PKKMB Committee Chair, the Vice Chair of the Student Senate, Study Program Coordinators, Unit Heads, Administrative Coordinators, representatives from the Student Association (HMPS), and representatives from each student unit (UKM) within the Faculty of Humaniteis. This year's PKKMB was attended by 441 new students and 25 of old students. Each was divided into 10 groups.
The event began with a report by I Putu Ariana S.S., M.Hum., Chair of the 2025 PKKMB Committee, and remarks by the Vice Chair of SMFIB, Putu Wahyud Mahatma N. Prof. I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D as Dean of FIB Unud. In his remarks, the Dean emphasized the importance of the series of PKKMB FIB 2025 activities. In addition to being a mandatory activity as a graduation requirement, he also hopes that the participants will follow the activities until the end and gain a good experience. Closing his remarks, the Dean also officially opened the PKKMB event by striking the gong accompanied by the putting on the nametags to two representatives of Mahadayana 2025. The gong striking and nametags were also accompanied by the Chair of the FIB Senate, the Vice Deans of FIB, the Chair of the PKKMB Committee, and representatives from SMFIB Unud.
The event then continued with a presentation of the main material, divided into two sessions. The moderator for the first session was Taufik Agus Purnomo, S.Pd., M.A., a lecturer in the Cultural Anthropology Study Program, Faculty of Humaniteis, Udayana University. The first session featured three speakers: Dr. I Gede Oeinada, S.S., M.Hum., Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs and Planning, who presented on Academic Rules and Policies. Prof. Dr. Dra. Ni Ketut Ratna Erawati, M.Hum., Vice Dean II for General Affairs and Finance, presented on Infrastructure Services and Preparation for Adjustment in Higher Education. The third session was Dr. Ni Ketut Puji Astiti Laksmi, S.S., M.Si., Vice Dean III for Student Affairs and Information, who presented on Student Affairs at the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University.
The first session covered a wide range of topics. The first material discussed important matters in lectures such as the implementation of the learning process, study load period, study programs in the FIB environment, status and sanctions for registration, academic leave, study programs and graduation degrees, the flow of the study process and student rights and obligations. The second material discussed in detail the facilities and infrastructure available at the two FIB Unud campuses, namely the FIB Nias Denpasar Campus and the FIB Bukit Jimbaran Campus. In the third material, the presentation focused on discussions related to student affairs, including student organizations, student interest and talent activities, student reasoning, student welfare, information and alumni. The presentation session was continued with a discussion and question and answer session which was followed enthusiastically by the Mahadayana 2025.
The second session of material presentation was moderated by Intan Maulida Al Barroh, S.Ark., M.Sc., who is also a lecturer in the Archaeology Study Program at the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. The second session was presented by I Gusti Agung Ayu Yuliari, SE. Ak., M.Sc., Secretary of the Udayana Student Affairs and Student Affairs Task Force, who discussed violence prevention under the title "Fighting Sexual Violence Begins with Awareness of Self-Protection Prevention." In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of preventing violence, which often occurs on campus. She explained that violence can occur in various forms, including physical violence, psychological violence, discrimination, intolerance, and policies that contain violence. Therefore, it is students' right to be free from such discriminatory acts. The presentation also discussed the procedures students can take when encountering cases of sexual violence on campus, as well as the importance of immediately reporting such acts.
Following the presentation of the two main sessions, the 2025 Mahadayana students ate lunch together and took a break for approximately one hour. After the break, the agenda was carried out with a Campus Tour from the Widya Sabha Building to the Faculty of Humanities Building, Udayana University, located on the Bukit Jimbaran Campus. Guided by a group facilitator, the new students were introduced to each room, where they would study later. After the Campus Tour, the 2025 Mahadayana were grouped according to their respective Study Programs and directed to pre-determined rooms. In these rooms, the 2025 Mahadayana were introduced by their respective Study Programs and HMPS. The final agenda of the first day of PKKMB was that the 2025 Mahadayana were directed back to the main building to take their homecoming attendance. All participants were then directed and guided directly to return to their respective places in an orderly manner.
