Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University Held Workshop on Outcome-Based Curriculum Development and International Standards
Denpasar, November 3, 2025 — The Faculty of Humanities (FIB) at Udayana University held a Curriculum Development Workshop featuring Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Padmadewi, M.A. from Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) as the guest speaker. This activity aims to strengthen the academic team's ability to develop study program curricula in accordance with Permendiktek No. 39 of 2025 concerning the Higher Education Quality Assurance System and refers to the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI). This workshop represents a strategic step in supporting the implementation of an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum within the FIB Unud environment, emphasizing graduate learning outcomes (CPL) and relevance to the needs of industry, research, and the global community.
Prof. Padmadewi, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Indonesian Postgraduate Foreign Language Education Association, explained various updates in national curriculum development policies, including a comparison between Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023 and Permendiktisaintek No. 39 of 2025. In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of curriculum flexibility, recognition of micro-credentials, and integration of international standards into the learning system. “The curriculum is no longer rigid, but must be able to adapt to the needs of students, developments in science and knowledge, and global dynamics,” she said. This activity also highlighted the importance of tracer studies as a basis for evaluating and refining the curriculum so that each study program can produce graduates who are competitive at the national and international levels.
Through interactive discussion sessions, workshop participants consisting of lecturers and curriculum development teams from FIB Unud received technical guidance on the stages of curriculum development, starting from the design of scientific vision, formulation of CPL, determination of study materials, to mapping of courses and semester learning plans (RPS). This approach is expected to strengthen academic quality while supporting the Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy. In addition, Prof. Padmadewi also introduced curriculum internationalization strategies, such as the establishment of international classes, joint degree programs, student exchanges, and cross-border research collaborations relevant to the direction of higher education globalization policies.
