Faculty of Humanities Udayana University Improve Information Management through Workshop of Information and Documentation Management Officer

The Faculty of Humanities of Universitas Udayana held Workshop of Information and Documentation Management Officer on May 26, 2026 in Soekarno Room, Poerbatjaraka Building, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. The event was attended by the Dean’s Board, program study coordinators, sub-coordinators, and unit coordinators from the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University.


The workshop was opened by a welcoming speech by the head of the committee,  Dr. Ni Ketut Puji Astiti Laksmi, S.S., M.Si. In her speech, she expressed problems and doubts over information spreading and the types of information that is allowed to be shared and not to be shared. She hoped that through this workshop, the speaker may take a look and review the faculty's website. She also expressed her gratitude that the speaker was willing to come and share some insights, as well as to the participants for attending.


Transitioning into the main event, the moderator I Kadek Surya Jayadi, S.S., M.A. guided the event and introduced the speaker to the present. Prof. Dr. dr. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, M.Kes. started his material by reminding the importance of information transparency. He explained that the public holds the right to the plan and base of an activity or event. The transparency and credibility of an event or a process is expected through socialisation, participation, and input. Several parties play a role in this: the public as requesters of public information, Universitas Udayana as the public body, and the Information and Documentation Management Staff under its authority who monitor and evaluate the public body—a process done by the information commission.


The speaker delivered some messages regarding information management in his talk. Regarding information transparency to the public, he said to give the best possible answer if asked for information. He also disclosed to log information requests, as in the response time and the impact of the answer. There are three types of data informed: periodic, immediate, and real-time. If the data is not yet available, the website is not to be left blank. Instead, a notice that the data is still being worked on should be posted. At the end of the presentation  the speaker emphasized the need of caution in regards to the matter of some types of data. This is focal to make sure that no data leaks happen.


The discussion session was filled with several questions regarding information management. In response to the website safetyness, he advised to ensure that the website is in the new version. In regards to a question on public complaints, he advised to not use personal contact in responding to the complaints. The event ended with the discussion session. This workshop is designed to broaden the knowledge of Information and Documentation Staff in order to improve information management.
