FIB Unud's History Study Program Collaborates with the Department of History PPPJJ Universiti Sains Malaysia

On Monday, March 25, 2024, the History study program of the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Udayana (FIB Unud) conducted a meeting to explore cooperation with the History Department of the Center for Distance Education of the University of Sains Malaysia (PPPJJ USM). This meeting was held as a follow up meeting on the meeting held between FIB Unud and PPPJJ USM on March 4, 2024.

The online meeting was attended by the FIB Unud History Study Program Coordinator, A.A. Inten Asmariati, S.S., M.Si., Coordinator of the FIB Unud Collaboration Information Management Unit, Novita Mulyana, S.S., M.Hum., PIC of the FIB Unud History Study Program Collaboration, I Kadek Surya Jayadi, S.S., M.A. From the PPPJJ USM History department, the meeting was attended by Norizan Kadir, Ph.D., Head of the PPPJJ USM History department along with one of the lecturers, Dr. Low Choo Chin.

On that occasion, the two programs exchanged information regarding their respective program profiles. The two also discussed potential collaborative activities such as (1) guest lectures, (2) hybrid seminars on the history of Southeast Asia, (3) exchange of academic publications, (4) workshops/training on research in history, (5) student mobility/exchange programs, and other activities.

Norizan Kadir, Ph.D., Head of USM's PPPJJ History Program on the occasion offered the History program of FIB Unud to start the implementation of cooperation by holding a seminar in history which can be beneficial not only for students, but also for the wider community.

"Perhaps as a start, we can create an online seminar, there are lecturers who are interested in sharing knowledge related to history of Indonesia or Southeast Asia, that such topics will be very beneficial for the students and the public", said Norizan, Ph.D.

 FIB Unud History Study Program Coordinator, A.A. Inten Asmariati, S.S., M.Si welcomed the cooperation proposal from PPPJJ USM History Department.

"Thank you Ms. Nor, I think that is the fastest way we can realize our cooperation by conducting the online seminar, as we have said earlier, in FIB Unud History Study Program has a number of professors in regional history, biography, revolution and history law and politics. I am very happy to create online seminar as the beginning of our cooperation", said A.A. Inten Asmariati, S.S., M.Si., responded to USM's proposal.

Both sides agreed to start the implementation of cooperation activities in online seminars and immediately compile the necessary cooperation documents. The two also agreed to carry out further meetings in order to discuss the technical implementation of the agreed upon cooperation activities. (nm)
