FoH Unud Signed MoA and Implements Collaboration with the West Nusa Tenggara Language Office

On Wednesday, June 19 2024, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University (FoH Unud) signed a Cooperation Contract/Agreement between FoH Unud and the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Language Office. The signing activity was carried out in the Cilinaya Hall of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Language Office, on Dokter Sujono Street, Mataram City, Lombok.


This MoA signing activity began with a discussion between FoH Unud and the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Language Office, then coupled with the Implementation of Collaboration in the form of Community Service activities entitled "Campaign to Prioritize Indonesian Language ​​in Public Spaces". This collaborative activity was implemented by the Indonesian Literature Study Program FoH Unud by assigning one of its professors, namely Prof. Dr. I Wayan Pastika, M.S., as the speaker of the event.


In his speech, the Dean of FoH Unud, I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., expressed his gratitude to the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Language Office for warmly welcoming the offer of cooperation from FoH Unud. He also explained that there are various cooperative activities that can be carried out by both parties as stated in the MoA prepared by both parties.


"On behalf of FoH Unud, allow me to thank Dr. Retno, Head of the West Nusa Tenggara Language Office and staff for accepting our proposal for cooperation and for welcoming us very well. In the PKS document that we will sign today, there are various collaborative activities that can be carried out between FoH Udayana University and the West Nusa Tenggara Language Office. One of them is MBKM activities. We hope that the West Nusa Tenggara Language Office will be willing to accept our students to carry out internships and provide guidance and guidance regarding languages. Apart from that, we also have a BIPA program and we think FoH Unud and the West Nusa Tenggara Language Office can exchange human resources (resource sharing) in this program. Apart from that, we hope that, through this collaboration, we can be present directly in the community, doing community service. If I'm not mistaken, West Nusa Tenggara is also rich in oral traditions which we feel are worth preserving," explained Aryawibawa, Ph.D.


In a tit for tat, Head of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Language Office, Dr. Puji Retno Hardiningtyas, S.S., M.Hum., stated that she was happy to accept the invitation to collaborate with FoH Unud. She also expressed her gratitude to FoH Unud for being willing to collaborate in a series of the Continuous   Language activities for School Activists and Campus Activists for Literacy Activists in the City of Mataram.


Dr. Retno explained that in this activity, West Nusa Tenggara Province Language Ambassadors will go directly to schools to implement various programs related to increasing the literacy of the younger generation. Therefore, strengthening the knowledge of Language Ambassadors regarding the use of the Indonesian language is very important before they go into the field later.


"We are of course happy to accept the invitation to collaborate with FoH Unud, especially in community service activities. Several areas in NTB need to improve their public literacy, so collaboration with FoH Unud, of course we think will be very beneficial," added Dr. Retno.


After signing the MoA, both parties exchanged souvenirs, as a sign that a cooperative relationship had been established between FoH Unud and the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Language Office. (nm)
