FOH Unud’s English Literature Study Program Holds Curriculum Review & Refinement Workshop

The English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University (FoH Unud) held a hybrid Curriculum Review & Refinement Workshop on Thursday, June 6 2024 at the Grand Mirah Hotel, Denpasar and using the Zoom Meeting application.

The first resource person at this workshop was Prof. Dr. Ir. Gusti Putu Men's Doubles, M.P. who is the Coordinator of the LP3M Curriculum Development Center at Udayana University. The second resource person is Asri Saraswati, Ph.D. who is the Coordinator of English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of Indonesia. This seminar was moderated by the lecturer at the English Literature Study Program at FoH Unud, Ketut Santi Indriani, S.S., M.Hum.

This event was officially opened by the Deputy Dean I for Academic Affairs, FoH Unud, Dr. I Gede Oeinada, S.S., M. Hum.

In the first session of the workshop, Prof. Ganda in his presentation discussed the Indonesia Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology’s Regulation No. 53 of 2023 concerning Quality Assurance in Higher Education and the implementation of this policy within Udayana University. Study programs are expected to be able to adapt the curriculum based on existing legal grounds to align with government policies to encourage students to be actively involved in the learning process, inviting them to think, ask questions and solve problems. Determination of the final assignment other than the thesis must still be based on the CPL which must be adjusted to the CPL charged for the thesis. The final assignment other than the thesis should be applied in any form adapted to the needs and demands of KKNI Level 6 where the final assignment other than the thesis can emphasize application and practice rather than theoretical research (practical application, holistic learning and career preparation)

In the second session of the workshop, Asri Saraswati, Ph.D. discussed Best Practices for Implementing Non-Thesis Final Assignments in the English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of Indonesia. In her presentation she stated that considering that OBE is a popular paradigm at the moment, the graduate profile is the basis for determining and directing the learning process in accordance with what students need in their future profession. The study program's challenge is to accommodate these needs through designing and offering an appropriate curriculum, including for final project courses.

This workshop activity was attended by the Deputy Dean I for Academic Affairs FoH Unud, Study Program Coordinator, lecturers, students, and alumni of the English Literature study program at FIB Unud as well as other stakeholders (graduate users). (rh)
