Gala Dinner at Nari Graha: The Culmination of the First Day of the 2026 IFSSO International Conference
Denpasar, April 21, 2026 – Closing the first day of The 27th IFSSO International Conference and General Assembly 2026, delegates and distinguished guests were treated to a Gala Dinner organized in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Bali. This gathering held at the Nari Graha Building which was attended by the university leadership of Udayana University, the leadership of the Faculty of Humanities of Udayana University, the IFSSO executive board, as well as experts from various global partner institutions.
A solemn atmosphere filled the room just before the opening remarks began with a stunning performance of the Sekar Jagat dance. This traditional Balinese welcome dance captivated the international delegates, leaving a strong first impression of the Island of the Gods’ rich artistic heritage amidst a packed academic schedule.
Initiating the evening’s gathering, IFSSO President Prof. Dr. phil. I Ketut Ardhana, M.A., expressed deep appreciation to the Government of Bali Province for its support in facilitating this special reception. He reported that this year’s conference had been highly successful, with over 100 participants in attendance and approximately 35 research papers presented. As a manifestation of academic commitment, the intellectual outcomes of this event will be officially published through a publishing collaboration between the Vietnamese side and Udayana Press. Furthermore, Prof. Ardhana, who was also re-elected by acclamation to lead IFSSO, announced that next year’s international conference is planned to be held in Vietnam.
Responding to the warm welcome, the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., emphasized that this gala dinner was designed to strengthen ties among the delegations in a more relaxed atmosphere that still fostered a spirit of collaboration. According to him, higher education institutions must always serve as a bridge connecting global knowledge. Prof. Sudarsana also reflected on the philosophy of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and the cultural harmony of Bali, which he hopes will serve as a source of inspiration for international academics to continue enriching collective understanding in responding to social dynamics.
