Sita from the Bachelor of English Literature Udayana University First Winner in Unila Newscast Competition

Hard work definitely pays off. Ni Komang Sita Widyasari achieved the first winner in the National Newscasting Competition held by EEC UNILA. Ni Komang Sita Widyasari, who is familiarly called Sita, has been interested in broadcasting since 2020. Her passion, particularly for public speaking, has led her to become a champion in several newscasting, speech, and English MC competitions. Sita's achievements have become a source of pride for the English Literature Program at Udayana University, which continues to encourage students to compete at the national and international levels. This certainly demonstrates the quality of education at the Faculty of Humanities at Udayana University, which consistently produces a generation of young people with outstanding achievements.

The competition organized by EEC Lampung University was held online from September 27-28, 2025. This Bachelor of English Literature's student participated in three preliminary rounds and ultimately won first place. In the first round, Sita had to submit a video showcasing her skill in delivering news in English. On Saturday, September 27, 2025, Sita advanced to the second round. Sita had to deliver a live report on a topic given by the committee at that time. The last session featured five finalists who advanced to the Final Round. On Sunday, September 28, 2025, Sita looked stunning in a purple outfit that complemented her performance. The Final Round was held via Zoom Meeting and broadcast live on EEC UNILA's YouTube channel.

“Even though it was held online, there was definitely nervousness in every round, especially during the Final Round,” said Sita. Sure enough, in the Final Round, Sita was challenged to be a talk show host. With very little time given during the competition, Sita was able to perform well and act professionally in interviewing the guest star who was brought in directly by the committee. This performance further demonstrates the ability of the Bachelor of English Literature's students at Udayana University to master the world of broadcasting. The UNILA 2025 Newscasting Competition also becomes an important platform for honing students' public communication skills. Sita's success reinforces the image of Udayana University as a campus that supports the development of talents in the fields of language and communication.
