Commencing the event, I Gusti Agung Ngurah Gorda, as the Village Coordinator, reported that the Bina Desa activities will run for four months, from April to July 2026. Carrying a theme focused on environmental conservation, this program aims to encourage the community to protect nature as a source of life while simultaneously empowering the community through tangible and impactful initiatives.

The Head of the Pedungan Customary Village, I Ketut Dantara, warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the presence of the students from the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University, who are carrying out the community service program through the Bina Desa activities in the Pedungan area. He also expressed his hope that the Pedungan Bina Desa team could assist the sub-district administration in socializing waste segregation to the community.

Continuing the agenda, I Gusti Ngurah Mayun Susandhika, S.S., M.Hum., as the Field Supervising Lecturer (DPL), expressed his great hope that this Bina Desa activity could foster a positive and collaborative synergy between the Pedungan Customary Village and the students. Furthermore, he emphasized that this program is a concrete manifestation of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the pillar of community service.

Concluding the speeches, I Wayan Diana, the Secretary of the Pedungan Sub-district, expressed his high hopes that this Bina Desa program will have a positive impact and be able to improve the living standards of the people in the Pedungan Village environment. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration by expressing his gratitude to the Head of the Customary Village and the Neighborhood Heads for the strong synergy established between the sub-district government and the customary village in supporting the success of this community service activity.

Pedungan Bina Desa opening series was ended by giving name tags to the representatives of the Bina Desa participants by the Head of the Pedungan Customary Village and the Secretary of the Pedungan Sub-district. This was followed by a presentation of the main work programs for the Pedungan Sub-district in 2026 by the Village Coordinator. The flagship programs in the environmental sector are focused on the socialization and demonstration of eco-enzyme production for the banjar community and junior high school students, which will culminate in the harvesting and spreading of the liquid into local river streams. In the education sector, the students are targeting elementary school students through interactive English and Japanese language teaching, biopore education, and P5 (Project for Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile) activities in the form of making potpourri from natural materials. To strengthen synergy with the residents, the team will also mingle and actively participate in existing social and community activities, such as working bee and the integrated healthcare center (Posyandu) services.

It is expected that the implementation of the Pedungan Bina Desa can serve as a platform for students to plunge directly into understanding community dynamics, while simultaneously delivering work programs whose benefits can be tangibly and sustainably felt by the village residents.
