Upskill visited Faculty of Humanities: Initiating a Short Course Program with University of Technology Sydney Students

On Monday, March 30, 2026, the Faculty of Humanities Udayana University received a visit from Upskill Study Bali. It was held in the Dean's Office, Ida Bagus Mantra Building, Faculty of Humanities Udayana University. It discussed the plan to create a short course program entitled "Indonesian Language and Culture" for students from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. The visit was welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University, Prof. I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D. and the Coordinator of the Indonesian Literature Study Program, FIB Unud, Dr. I Gusti Ayu Agung Mas Triadnyani, S.S., M.Hum. The meeting was held in a warm and productive atmosphere, with a focus on strengthening international collaboration.

The short course will be organized by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). It is scheduled to run for two weeks, between June 15 and July 10, 2026, with a quota of 20 students. During the meeting, Upskill emphasized that Faculty of Humanities Udayana University was selected as a partner alongside Gadjah Mada University due to its superior lecturer competence and experience in organizing the BIPA (Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers) program and cultural studies compared to other units. This program is expected to provide a comprehensive learning experience for international students, both academically and culturally.

The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities University of Udayana, Prof. I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., welcomed the initiative for this collaboration very positively. He expressed his enthusiasm and noted that this program is an excellent idea for institutional development, particularly for the Bachelor of Indonesian Literature. He expressed his commitment to facilitate the program and was pleased with the visit from Upskill, which he considered to be very well-targeted. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the continuity of the UTS program and emphasized that the university should not miss out on the potential for international collaboration. In addition, this collaboration is also expected to develop international programs and enhance the international reputation of the Faculty of Humanities at Udayana University.
