Bringing together representatives of English Language and Literature study programs from various higher education institutions across Indonesia, this congress served as a strategic forum to strengthen academic networks, enhance educational quality, and formulate the developmental direction of English studies in Indonesia.

At the event, Udayana University was represented by the Coordinator of the English Literature Study Program, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Parthama, M.Hum., and the Head of the Accreditation Task Force of the English Literature Study Program, Dr. Galuh Febri Putra, M.A.. The presence of the Unud delegation was further strengthened by two professors who attended as special invitees, namely Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ayu Gde Sosiowati and Prof. Dr. Ni Luh Nyoman Seri Malini.

Carrying the theme “Grounded, Evolving, Impactful”, the 7th ESAI Congress emphasized the importance of developing English Language and Literature study programs that remain rooted in scientific foundations, adaptive to changing times, and capable of making tangible contributions to society. This theme was realized through various academic agendas, institutional discussions, and the strengthening of inter-program collaborations.

One of the main agendas of the congress was the implementation of two plenary sessions addressing strategic higher education issues, namely curriculum development and the accreditation system through the Online Higher Education Accreditation System (Sistem Akreditasi Perguruan Tinggi Online / SAPTO). The curriculum discussion focused on maintaining the relevance of English Language and Literature education to scientific advancements, societal needs, and workforce challenges. Meanwhile, the accreditation plenary session served as a space for sharing knowledge and experiences in navigating developments within the higher education quality assurance system.

In the plenary session on accreditation, Prof. Dr. Ni Luh Nyoman Seri Malini from Udayana University was entrusted to serve as one of the speakers. Her presence provided academic contributions to the discussion on accreditation mechanisms through SAPTO 2.0, including mapping the challenges and readiness of study programs in meeting quality assurance standards. The involvement of a Udayana University professor as a speaker in this national forum simultaneously demonstrated the active role of FIB Unud in strategic discussions regarding the improvement of higher education quality in Indonesia.

For the English Literature Study Program of FIB Udayana University, participation in this congress holds significant value, particularly in supporting curriculum development and preparing for study program accreditation. Through this forum, the Unud delegation gained the opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss best practices in study program management, and expand opportunities for academic collaboration with other universities across Indonesia.

Beyond focusing on academic and institutional strengthening, the 7th ESAI Congress also reaffirmed the social commitment of academics through a social service activity. The congress series concluded with a visit and the handover of aid to the Salib Putih Orphanage and Nursing Home (Panti Asuhan dan Panti Wreda Salib Putih) in Salatiga. The symbolic handover of aid was carried out by two professors of Udayana University, namely Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ayu Gde Sosiowati and Prof. Dr. Ni Luh Nyoman Seri Malini.

This social service activity served as an expression of social care as well as a reminder that the advancement of science and higher education cannot be separated from humanitarian values. Through this initiative, ESAI demonstrated that academic collaboration is directed not only toward improving educational quality, but also toward making tangible contributions to society.

The participation of the English Literature Study Program of FIB Udayana University in the 7th ESAI Congress is expected to strengthen the study program's position within the national academic network, support quality enhancement through curriculum development and accreditation, and open sustainable cooperation opportunities in the fields of education, research, and community service.
